New York, New York!

On Saturday we visited the Manhattan Temple.

Callie's always dreaming of being a Vague Model!

above: The two main things we eat in NY are pizza and cupcakes! We ate our weight!
below: Carolyn can't just sit, so she knits!

Here she goes being Vague again!

We were able to relocate a little knitting shop called Pearl. Carolyn, Gretchen, and I randomly found it two years ago when we were there. It's very cute!

These are "cab" pictures. We were hoping for the cash cab. Oh, well.

The Lady Liberty

If you look closely, you can almost see the Statue of Liberty. New Jersey is on the right. This was not far from our hotel.

Charlie's 3!!!

Charlie's 3rd birthday was a big day! We had some friends over for an inside party because it was rainy, again. Charlie's 3 for 3 on rainy birthdays!
Charlie's cake was supposed to be a mountain with tractors on it. About an hour before the party Christian and I were getting his gifts together in the back of the house. When I walked into the kitchen where Charlie was, he was up on the counter driving his tractors all over his cake. It looked like a big ole dump of a cake after that! What do you do?! It's his birthday. Why wouldn't he want to drive the tractors on his cake?
We kept re-lighting the candle. Everyone wanted a turn blowing it out. This started because Charlie's friend Sam blew the candle out first, so we had to make sure Charlie got to do it. After that, you know.

The lovely ladies, Violet and Lucy.
The candle blowin' Sammy!

Charlie and his friend Wyatt. Wyatt's sister Adi and her friend Katia were also there.
Our social little Adam.

Charlie didn't get to eating his cake the first time around. At the end of the party I found him stuffing his face!
Charlie saying good-bye to his best bud!
The birthday boy, and his tractors, get clean!
These are from earlier in the day. We went to the children's museum at the Gateway. It was really fun and creative for Charlie. By the way, it's great to finally have Adam facing forward in the car! It's a whole new world for him!

Happy Birthday Adam!

Adam's vocabulary: uh-oh, num (yum), Mum, Dada
Where did the last year go? I blinked.....he's one!
We started the day by giving him his very own Giego car (it's actually Diego, but Charlie says Giego).
Next, the boys got a new pool for the back yard. The elephant trunk sprays water, pretty fun!

After a short morning nap we went to the zoo. Thanks Grandma Sheri and Papa Dennis for treating the boys to their annual pass!
The actual party started with brats in the back yard. Charlie likes ketchup and mustard!

The kids had fun in the pool!
For the first little while we trapped Adam in his high chair. He didn't seem to mind.

When we let him out, he headed straight for the pool.....
And fell in head first!
Fortunately, I was right there. When I scooped him out it took him a minute to catch his breath. Then, he started laughing and clapping!
Next, he headed back to the pool!

I am absolutely an amature cake maker, but I love to do it for their birthdays!

Sam, Charlie, Estelle, Lucy, and Violet love to be together!
Adam loved his cake!

Grandma Sheri cleaned him up.
Adam wanted tatoos for his party favors. Just like Daddy.

Charlie and I had fun with the baloons. What a great party!
